Everything Else

I find that some quilts resist categorization. Many on this page are a combination of styles, often traditional pieced blocks mixed with applique, or traditonal styles mixed with modern elements.

  1. Serengetti: This quilt is machine pieced and hand appliqued. There is a large appliqued giraffe on the back of this quilt.
  2. Butterflies and Flowers: The soft realistic shapes of the butterflies contrast with the stylized, angular flowers.
  3. Butterflies: A mini-quilt, approximately 9 x 7 inches.
  4. Pieced and Appliqued Quilt: Pieced and appliqued using Japanese cottons and silks, and Japanese-designed fabrics.
  5. Pastels and Flowers: This quilt was made without a pattern. I decided to make this quilt after seeing a similar one. It took a lot of work to figure out just how to do it.
  6. Rainbow 9-Patch: One hundred and twenty eight different rainbow colors were used to create the nine patches for the quilt. These same fabrics were used for the applique border.
