Julie's Notes on these Quilts

  1. Houses and Children: In a happy neighborhood. We all should grow up this way.
  2. Quack! An early quilt. I chose this one because I thought it would be relatively easy; it was.
  3. The Quilt Shop: A humorous take on quilts and quilters. It was made from a pattern based on a picture by Barbara Lavallee.
  4. Cool Dude: When I saw the pattern for this flamingo, I knew I had to make him. He reminds me of neighborhood kids, just hanging out. This is a mini-quilt.
  5. Balloon Fiesta: This quilt is paper-pieced. It is a tribute to the New Mexico Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, held in Albuquerque every year.
  6. Children of the World: My first applique quilt, made in 1982.
  7. Christmas: Geometrical Santas and, of course, trees.
  8. Cats and Mice: The tails are hanging loose; they are not quilted.
